Welcome! I am very excited to share this podcast with each and every one of you, but first I’d like to make an introductory post of what and who we are.
Hex Grid Heroes is a homebrew Starfinder adventure podcast of 5 Colorado gaming fans. It feels easily like double the amount of time but we’ve only been playing this system and these characters since February, gathered together by a random Facebook post. We are several sessions into the story so we will have some fun weaving what we’ve experienced into the ongoing narrative. Fun, right? Think A New Hope but maybe Han explains just how he made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs, thereby cluing the audience into just how rad the Millenium Falcon is, and possibly saving them about 2 hours from watching Solo (clarification: I’m a glutton for Star Wars so this was just a lazy potshot, you understand what I mean).
Our cast of characters in this show will be:
*Kevin – GM, various NPCs, and my cohost for Episode 0
*Don – Dr. Kes “Keskodai”- Male Shirren Mystic and the writer of this blog
*Laura – Female Dragonkin Soldier
*Edgar – Male Human Operative
*Voloteo – Male Kasathan Solarian
The latter two people may or may not decide to choose to reveal their private, legal names, so we will be addressing them as their characters until/in the event they decide to reveal that.
This is also my first foray into producing a podcast, so there may be some audio bumps along the way as we find the sweet spot with microphone distances and recording etiquette. As a voracious podcast listener myself (nearly 3000 hours on my Stitcher app so far, NBD) I understand how easy it is to cut off a new podcast for sounding inexperienced. I assure you we sound pr-etty good if I do say so myself.
That’s all for now, Episode 0 will have Kevin and I discuss our IRL meeting and some rambly bits about our history on tabletop gaming in general. The REAL adventure begins in Episode 1: Can I Hit This?
